Last year was spent writing all original songs and recording some of them in the studio. I am very excited about the new material I have to work with for future CD’s. As I stood on the stage of Nashville Star, I had only sung in public three or four times and I was scared to death. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much I’ve improved since the beginning of my career. It’s fun to compare my first CD with where I am now and listen to how much I’ve grown as a singer, and also as a songwriter. So, wish me luck as I continue to pursue my dreams.

The Mediterranean Tour included bases throughout Greece, Turkey, Italy as well as shows at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

About Laura in the Honduras

June 5, 2007
LauraSullivan and Honduras

I would like to thank all the people involved in getting this group out to see us at Joint Task Force-Bravo-Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. It all started yesterday, when I visited one of the shops on post. I was looking for t-shirts for my children when a lively helpful woman helped me with colors and sizes. I didn't realize until the concert that night that person was Ms. Sullivan herself. What a wonderful person, with a beautiful personality. During the concert, she posed for several photos and wished all the troups well. It was evident that the crowd was wowed by the many standing ovations for Ms. Sullivan and her band. After the last three weeks where we've seen multiple traumas each week at the medical company, Ms. Sullivan and her band's performance was the ticket we needed to brighten our spirits and start anew. Once again, I am personally thanking all that were involved to get this stellar performance together.

Respectfully,

William Ingram, Captain, USAF
Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras

A press release from the Armed Forces Entertainment says:

"Laura's songs are honest and she sings from the heart", said Frank Tagatac, Armed Forces Entertainment circuit/regional manager for the Pacific and Caribbean. "She has such an energetic stage presence and it's obvious she loves to perform, this is exactly the type of entertainer we look for because it ensures the troops will get a good show...which is what it's all about."

Durring every performance Laura read this letter she wrote:

I'm here, they are there.

Here, in the comfort of my own home. Free to write, feel, or do anything. Free of any burdens in life that would change the world I know. Free to speak, think, and act on any emotion I feel. Free...exactly. I am Free because of people like them. People who fight for our country when they are called to do so. Free because they have the Courage to stand up for what they believe in. Courage that takes them across the world. Courage that whispers in their ear everyday...they will be home soon. Strength to leave their families and loved ones. The Will to get up every morning not knowing what fate will bring them. The Power to know they are powerless in what surrounds them. Most importantly, they have Pride. Pride to fight for our Country.

Pride to fight for FREEDOM.

More Letters of thanks to Laura:

Laura,

Thanks for stopping by LaMaddalena and entertain my sailors. Your concert was GREAT and we appreciated the efforts of you and your team to get here. We know it wasn't easy. Also, thanks for spending time on the AFE tour. We enjoy the break from the day to day operations and are thankful entertainers such as yourself remember those serving around the world.

Life is going well in Cairo. Much of my time after work is spent at home working and on weekends. There are opportunities to balance the litany of work such as last night. Armed Forces Entertainment hosted a country singer, Laura Sullivan at the Maadi House. Great show, and a very talented young women. It was refreshing to see a performer so down to earth who leaves their ego off the stage.

Ms. Sullivan,

Thanks so much to you and your band for taking the time to come to Guantonamo Bay Naval Base to share your music with base residents. Your concerts provided excellent entertainment, and the opportunity for us to share in a piece of home that you brought with you.

Best of luck to you in your music career. I hope to be able to see you in concert again sometime here or back in the States.

Regards,

Bill Dando
Cuba

Laura,

Thank you for all your support for our troops in Honduras. We really loved your show and it brought a new spirit to our base.

David Ingram, Captain

Laura,

I saw your band when you toured with AFE in 2007. I was at the Maadi House, Cairo, Egypt concert. I have since transferred to Naples, Italy and have been there for over a year. I was wondering if you guys are considering touring again under the AFE label and more importantly would consider coming to Naples, Italy. We are in dire need of some "quality" entertainment. Your gig in Cairo was a lot of fun and I know the folks stationed here in Naples would enjoy your talents!

I hope this finds you happy and healthy!
Ciao bella,
